Jane Iredale Skincare is a cosmetic firm known the world over and founded by Jane Iredale, former television commercial casting director. She is now founder of the company – Iredale Mineral Cosmetics – that manufactures the Jane Iredale Skincare line.
Iredale was the first person to base a full makeup line on minerals. Working with renowned dermatologists and plastic surgeons all over the globe, she formed her cosmetic firm in 1994. Her television and film work including cosmetic assistance with stars such as Jaclyn Smith, Cybill Shepherd, Susan Sarandon, Lauren Hutton, Sarah Jessica Parker and Glenn Close. Jane Iredale’s Skincare assistance was required in Francis Ford Coppola’s movie the Outsiders, and Steven Spielberg’s The Color Purple.
Jane Iredale Skincare products then segued into use by her own production company. Not only did Jane Iredale focus on skincare, but she also produced more than fifty PBS and HBO programs and earned an Emmy for her writing in a film series. She also earned a Tony for her writing of the Wind in the Willows musical.
